Whats the point of the DSi??? (abit of a rant)?

*Still plays exactly the same games ? - no point upgrading

*abit smaller ? - who gives a damn

*larger screens ? - still crappy video card/driver - you still see pixles...

*brighter screens ? - the screen is bad quality anyway...

*louder speakers ? - crappy midi tones any way (in game play)

*dsi ware... applications ? - It doesent have the processing capabilities to do much more than the lite + Rip off of Apple App Store

*camera - whats the point - my phone camera is better

*it can play mp3 - wow... - proberbally a crappy codec anyway..

*you can edit things - sound - pictures ---- fun - if your a 5 year old

*record 10 seconds of sound - Just get a M3 for the lite and install a sound recorder application - you can then record for hours

Im sorry if i have been harsh - and i have gone over the top in some places (midi - may bee acc...)

but their only little differences - apart from these above - is their any other actual POINTS of why i should buy one?Whats the point of the DSi??? (abit of a rant)?
Just another thing for casuals to waste their money on. I'm sure it'll sell really well too. I would never buy, especially since it doesn't have a GBA port. It has a bunch of useless features which is nowhere near as good as other things you can buy.Whats the point of the DSi??? (abit of a rant)?
For me, the two sellers would be the DSi online shop and the fact that the system has a matte finish. A lot of the things that you listed do cater more to a younger audience, because, well...that's who Nintendo wants to reach mostly (especially since most DS games aren't rated M). I wouldn't get one myself since I own a PSP. Costs the same as the DSi, yet has better graphics and internet radio.
well you can also browse the internet but other then that theres no need to go upgrade unless you want to im perfectly happy with my old ds
My friend also said that it doesn't have GBA slot, not sure if it's true, though. And I agree with you. I actually still have the original DS, rahter than a lite ^^;
It is a money making machine..It just rolls on ..I personally wouldnt buy this and will stick to my DS..I too would just take a photo and edit on my mobile phone..
I agree with you. They're just trying to compete with the iPhone. DSi? iPhone? Anything the same in the title?
I take it you are an adult who bores easily? :-)

The Nintendo series of game systems and games were originally designed with families and children in mind, as opposed to, say, the Sony series, which was generally designed for adults. This goes for the handheld units as well. Many titles have come out for the Nintendo systems that adults like to play, but most hard-core adult gamers stick with the Playstation 3 and its vast library of games. (The PS3 will also play PS2 and PS1 games.)

In like manner, the Nintendo DSi was designed with children in mind. Now there is a handheld game system that does all of the cool things the adult toys do, though maybe not quite as well, and the children are happy now. Eventually there will be games and add-ons for the DSi that will make better use of its functions, much like what has happened with the DS/DS Lite.

Until that happens, though, I am like the rest of you. I never buy a game system unless and until there are enough games for it that I know I will enjoy, and it is a pretty good bet that there will be more. That hasn't happened with the DSi yet, so I am quite happy with my existing game systems. - LJS
I agree on some of your points, on some other I don't

I Bought a DSi the release date, why? well I Need a second DS and I was not buying a regular DS Lite.

The Larger screens are ok, doesn't harm to be bigger, I know the graphic capability is not great, but improved screens are always welcome.

SD card is a big plus for storing download content, the DSi ware looks very promising and it's not an Apple store ripoff, the Apple store itself is the ripoff.

The cameras, well I agree with you, Nintendo just screw it up as always, such low resolution cameras are found on two year old cell phones.

The Music player sucks! It does not read MP3, only ACC and M4p files, no video player, come on! again Nintendo screw it up, a 2009 portable that does not do video, sucks!

I care about being smaller and lighter, is ok, but again, many of the ';great features'; advertised are lame, the only reason to buy a DSi is if you don't have a DS Lite get the DSi if you have the Lite, don't upgrade, it's not worth it.
