Did Pastor Wright tell the truth in his so-called rant?

Do you even know what he said? And if you answer this question by simply and blindly stating he is racist then I know what your real answer is. Somebody, Anybody, please tell me what he said that was not true or that was racist.Did Pastor Wright tell the truth in his so-called rant?
If he didn't it sure scared the hell out of me that a future president would listen to crap like that. It changed my vote.Did Pastor Wright tell the truth in his so-called rant?
I did read his sermon and I heard it on the news.

I disagree with his characterization of the US. We dropped the bomb on Japan during a time of bitter war between nation-states. That is not terrorism per se, though the effect may have been the same. We support Israel, yes, but that does not mean we agree with some of their tactics. If anything, the US has been a moderating force in the Israeli handling of the Palestinians. If it was up to them, they would have simply wiped out the West Bank and Gaza Strip years ago. A constant stream of suicide attacks has that effect on people. I think he was also wrong about 9/11.

So no, I do not think there was much truth in what he said and I would be happy to discuss it point by point if you would like. But don鈥檛 try labeling me a racist or uninformed because I think what he said was a racist rant. Truth be told, it was.
Pretty much.

It offends alot of people that Blacks care so deeply about the racism and discrimination we have faced and that we often still deal with.

I guess they believe that churches in Black communities with mostly Black members should keep silent on the issue.

The REAL racism here is that Jewish people can talk about anti-Semitism in their synagogues and other groups can adress the problems they have faced butnwhen Blacks do it it is divisive.

I wonder how much outrage there would be if people weren't broadcasting th sermons and calling them controversial.

Is there some reason that Black people should not care about Africa?

Jews shouldn't care about Israel?

Italians shouldn't care about Italy ?

Polish shouldn't care about Poland ?

Bosnians shouldn't care about Bosnia ?

I guess caring about the people and places from which you are descended or the struggles that people of your race have and are going through makes one a racist.

I am quite sure that plenty of those who read my answer think I'm one just because I care about what happens to Blacks.

The truth may set you free but it doesn't get you any friends.
He did have some good points! Although, he did go hate mongering. Is obama the ';first'; black in the CFR? Do you think that those ';old school rich'; that run the Fed Reserve are NOT racists? Black freedom has increased, but from when? 1960? 1970? 1980? There is a good chance that those ';old school rich'; are still alive, and, if not, passed on their values to their children! We have come along way, but there is still a rough road to travel.

P.S.- I am a white christian CONSERVATIVE!
He said ';white people say God bless America, but no I say g** d** America, its in the bible, g** d** America. he said the the rich white government is trying to cause genocide by deliberately infecting the black community with aids, he likens the united states to al-quida, and says that we deserved 9-11. Do you think it is true that all of those Americans who lost their life's on 9-11 deserved it? do you believe that the government really invented aids to commit genocide with people of color? Watch the videos and decide for your self. There is a lot more.
Nothing, their getting their kicks off of finally pointing the finger at someone else for being racist and trying to take the racist focus off themselves
He made it sound like white america has been purposefully and methodically suppressing black americans from moving up in the world by giving them drugs, building prisons, etc. He was basically saying America deserved 9/11 because of something their government did decades ago. Do you really agree with these words? If so, I can name you many other countries who have also wronged another (pretty much every one of them) in the past. If they all thought like that, this world would be in chaos. If this thinking was justified, then you should also be fighting for the American Indians in taking back their country that they had been forced from so long ago as well. Is anyone doing that? So, since Obama is so much about unity and peace and bringing people together, how can he possibly stand to have such a pastor as his MENTOR for 20 years?

EDIT: Um, I didn't say America hasn't been doing it. I'm saying that they have, along with every other country in the world. I'm also saying that we've been trying to move past it. Apparently you believe that people should always pay forever for the acts of their ancestors, right? By the way, I'm not white or black, that's why I don't see things in your black + white view. I have also been a victim of race, but I don't believe all Americans should have to pay for the acts of a few. I don't believe that 9/11 is justified. I don't listen to a message of hate because it only spreads more hate. Perhaps you need to open your eyes.

I'm tired of your self-righteousness. I know of every single wrong that you have mentioned that the US has done in the past to black people. Do you know all the other things that they have done to other races? I bet not so much. Well, I know of most of those too. The people in the past were monsters, but that doesn't make the ones who live in America now the same. Stop trying to act like you are so perfect because if you really cared about all of these wrongs, then you would be fighting for many other groups both here in the US and abroad. However, I hope that your idea of fighting against injustice is not to just continue spouting hate speeches about how BAD america is and how we should d*** them all, because not only does that not solve a thing, it also makes it worse.

You're obviously an idiot. Did I ever say that everything is well now? No. What I'm saying is that spreading a message of hate doesn't make it better, but apparently you do. You make things better by decreasing the hate and countering the stereotypes, not exaggerating and compounding them like Reverend Wright does. Get it? What do you think he's suggesting by blaming everything on the American government? Do you think he's encouraging blacks and whites to come together an resolve their differences and make things better for the future? No, all he's doing is making the rift even deeper and seering the hatred into their hearts.
I think you'll need to start by specifying which rant; he's been doing them for at least 20 years.

One rant in particular claims that HIV was 'invented' to be an agent of genocide against 'people of color' - an obvious falsehood (though in fairness he's wacky enough to actually believe that).
No he had no legit points...

Check it out Obama is coming on msnbc/// Wright is fired off his campaign.
I think he told the truth in regards to America treating it's non-white citizens as non human (sometimes) Everything else is his opinion. There's no way he can prove the U.S. had anything to do with the spread of the AIDS virus or 9/11. So I won't call that the truth. I'm not going to go as far as to say I believe that, but lets say 30 years from now it comes the U.S. had a hand in either, I wouldn't be surprised.

I don't think he's being a racist, though.
It is the truth. Its all over the media and youtube. The pastor is full of hate. How Obama can sit in that congregation for 20 years is still beyond me.
he told the truth.will the nutters still be forwarding the muslim email?does any american know anything about americas' shameful history?
He told what he believed was his truth. nd we all know truth is in the eye of the beholder.

I guess his truth is using the n word, telling lies and behaving in a crude manner that personifies a negative black stererotype.

He was trying to portray Barrack Obama as this poor little deprived black kid who actually grew up in a white household and who had the means to send him to Hawaii's most prestigious highschool.

I don't think Jesus was black but he does. I don't think God has damned America.

If he hates America so much and loves Africa so much why hasn't he immigrated to the land that he loves. Think he would sleep on a straw mat or stay in a nice clean fancy hotel?
he thought he told the truth

but he forgot that obama mom is white so obama is not a black man.

obama is a rich black and so is his wife

jesus was jewish was not black

i don't think white people caused 9/11
All true!!

but they can't handle the truth!
