Am I the only one my age without a license? (17, rant mostly)?

Alright, so to start off, I just turned 17 beginning of May. I still have my permit. But I did get it pretty late though. I was eligible to get my license April 11th and I still don't have it! I feel like such a loser because I'll probably start my high school senior year still riding the bus. I'd be the only one and it would be so embarrassing.





The thing that pisses me off is that my cousin, 15 years old, has a car. A really nice one for her first one. HER PARENTS BOUGHT IT FOR HER... and shes 15 and can't even drive it yet but she has one...She gets every thing she wants because she's an only child.


Now when I buy a car it will be an old junkie car. but noooo... she has to get everything she wants. it makes me sick.


I'm one in five kids and I have to buy everything. Even the simplest things like school supplies.


I'm just so sick of spoiled kids getting what ever they want for doing nothing.


Am I over reacting? Anything I can do to calm myself down.Am I the only one my age without a license? (17, rant mostly)?
my niece is 17 and still can't drive. Also, nobody in my family EVER had cars bought for them of any form or fashion. Life's not always fair. Just try to remember this too will pass.Am I the only one my age without a license? (17, rant mostly)?
No, It annoys me that kids who don't do anything get what ever they want. It sounds like you cousins parents aren't very bright buying a child who cant even drive a car. But there is nothing you can do about it right now. Just know that in the end when you finally do get your own car it will be more worth it because it will be all yours and you would have actually earned it.
I am 47. I have no licence.





5 kids in a family is expensive. 1 kid in a family can have much more.





You will not have as nice a car as your cousins. But just make do with the one you will be lucky enough to drive.





You are not overreacting, but the reality is, your cousins parents have more spending money because they only have 1 child.

as for your cousin, her parents have money, and only one kid to spend it on. you have 4 siblings. thats just how it goes. life isnt fair. its about time you got used to it and quit whining like a 9 year old.
You are not the only one without a license. my sister is 22 years old and she only has a permit. not a license. She is fine.
If I had my way...kids nowadays, wouldn't get it until they were at least 18....so, your dad is right...and it sucks not getting everything you want, but that's life, my friend!!
Ive got a friend whos 21 and has never been botheres with any driving at all.

i didnt get my license until I was 18 and i know a few people who are older then i am (im 24) that still doesnt have a license





you are over reacting...life is hard....I grew up with one parent with a ver ylow minimum paying job and i was working since i was 15 and i didnt get my car until i was 20....but in the whole over look on things.... everything will turn out to be okay....





when i was asenior many seniors were riding the bus.... dont feel embarassed...no ones going to laugh at you because you're riding the bus.... its not that big of a deal....

I live in Grosse Pointe Michigan. Grosse Pointe is one of the richest cities in America and is known around the Nation. You should see the cars that these spoiled kids drive. Im talking Mercedes CL 550's, Porshe's, Jeep Commander's, Tahoe's. I didnt get my license until I was 17, and I drive a Cavalier Z24. Just be patient. You will get it. Just think....there are adults who never had the oppurtunity to get a license or afford a car. Some People dont have legs to walk. Appreciate what you have. You are blessed. Good Luck!
it sure sounds like you are over-reacting. you also sound jealous. And that make you sound petty. Otherwise you would be happy for your cousin. I'm sure your parents do the best for you that they can. You don't have your license yet cuz YOU didn't take your road test yet. so stop blaming everyone else. And i'm sure you will be the only person on the bus next year cuz EVERYBODY else will have a car. Geez...grow up and stop feeling so sorry for yourself. I sure hope your parents don't ever see this and see how ungrateful you are.
Yeah, I hear you, but those spoiled kids your talking about will be working for people like you someday. While you get these people that are handed everything, you, me and many other people, who have to work for what we get, will gain a huge advantage over them because we'll learn how to save our money and grow up knowing how to set goals and invest. And, who gives a sh*t about still riding the bus? Gas prices are horrid right now, enjoy the free ride and not paying for insurance why you can. I let my friends and parents drive me to work and saved so much more money than what I would have if I was paying for those costs, and easily had enough for a nice car. The struggles you go through will make you stronger. Also it may help to imagine your cousin's new car getting keyed in the night. : P
i know how u feel same here my sis same age same situation she has 2 work hard when our rich cousin who is 14 is learning how 2 drive and gets 2 get a car when she is 15 and my family is 6 kids and me and my sis need 2 get a job learn values and get a crappy car 4 when my cuz gets 1 it ganna be a 2007 car thatz what her parent said not fair but life isn't fair learn that people get stuff other ways i am glad i an't rich i will learn how 2 buy my own stuff and responsibility remember god doesn't like jealousy even if u think it ant fair don't let jealously over come u stay Strong learn da facts of life every one takes a different rode but u will end up n da same place weather it be working hard and learning or having ur momie do it 4 u . life an't fair baby
