What do you think of this guys anti-christmas rant?

It kind of pisses me off and I'm not even Christian. I'm Jew....ISH (actually i'm sort of atheist at the moment) but i was born Jewish and I always thought Christmas was pretty, along with Hannukah (I think blue and silver look prettier than red and green to be honest) but this guy just seems really ridiculous and like a psychotic fundie.

Are you a christian? Do you celebrate christmas? What are your thoughts on this guy's argument?

Thanks.

In shorter terms, he's basically saying this:

if you dont want to read his long annoying rant.

I like Christmas!! I don't care if it's pagan it's fun. Even if I don't celebrate it lol (i help my friend's decorate their trees and bring them new ornaments every year)What do you think of this guys anti-christmas rant?
I'm not christain, but I DO celebrate Christmas. However I was baptized as a christain... though i've never been to church since %26amp; am now an atheist.

I still celebrate because for me, I am more celebrating the fact that my family is all together... it's really not even religious for me at all. It's fun %26amp; I like the whole spirit of it all. I'm not into the whole jesus part of it, though.

Besides, christmas is so commercialized anyways. It's lost that religious part anyways. What do you think of this guys anti-christmas rant?
It isn't pagan. It's Christian. Those puritans have a lot to answer for as it was they who, in England and other parts of Europe, attacked all the old Catholic traditions - Christmas trees, parties, mystery plays, decorations etc. etc. It was they who called it ';pagan'; - just because it was Catholic. They even tried to ban Christmas altogether in England.

There is actually no historical evidence tracing our customs back to any pagan religion. Some of them are too generalised - feasting, decorating (greenery or whatever), giving presents are things associated with all sorts of festivals.

The specifc ones are either originally Christian (Santa, Christmas Tree, Crib) or (like Mistletoe) their origins are unknown.
As far as i am concerned i am an atheist but i still believe christmas is the day of the birth of our saviour jesus christ, it is a day for sharing and giving, so lets all put our differences aside and all have a very merry christmas whatever ethnic background we come from? Hope my answer was helpful? Like the saying goes peace on earth and good will to all who inhabit her?
