Sell by/use by dates, can i have a rant, PLEASE?

why are there SO many questions about these?

its a simple concept

why do so many people want justification from peeps on here to eat food thats past its best?

do they think if enough people say its ok they wont get salmonella poisoning from it?

I'm sorry for the rant, this is a peeve of mine,

and people should have enough sense of self preservation if not common sense

thank you for listening, rant over

suppose i should ask a Q

What is your ';food'; pet peeve?Sell by/use by dates, can i have a rant, PLEASE?
LMFAO!!! Yes, I totally agree!!!! I personally don't like to eat anything that expires within a month. And if I buy a bottle of water, I don't care WHAT brand it is, it better not expire within the next year and change. There is no reason for me to buy something that expires tomorrow. I've been known to dig all the way to the back of the shelves if it earns me an extra week. I agree with you 100%.Sell by/use by dates, can i have a rant, PLEASE?
my food peeVe is people asking why pizzas come in a round box!!!!!

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD PEOPLE ITS BEEN ASKED 104 TIMES THIS PAST YEAR...LOOK IT UP B4 U ASK!!
It's always a good idea to vent your frustrations.

I pay no attention to dates printed on products. I can see, smell.

My only peeve is that I like cabbage, I live alone and could never eat a whole cabbage. I would like to be able to buy a half or a quarter of a cabbage. A whole one doesn't fit in my fridge either.
My food pet peeve would be people who leave anything that will stain a Corian sink in the sink without running some water over it first. How stupid is that?

Oh, another one.... food labels that read ';refrigerate after opening';. As if people would leave things like mayo on the counter? Common sense I'd think.
I agree!

But I have some bacon and its use by date is 17th Jan 2008....will it be ok to eat? lol
Mine is people who put open tins in the fridge, urgh, put it in a plastic container!!!
My food pet peeve is when people can't be bothered to clear their plates before putting it into the sink. How nasty is that. People at my old work place use to do it all the time.
I confess...my food pet peve here is so many questions about food that someone mistakenly left in their car or on their counter overnight, instead of refrigerating it, and wondering if it was ';OK'; to eat.

I don't understand why anyone would endanger their health, or the health of their family, to save a few $.
People avoiding eating foods like beans %26amp; cabbage to prevent from farting. How immature!
