If it rains tonight and the ballgame is cancelled, what are my options?

I'm going to the Phillies game tonight. There's been off and on showers all day and probably into the night.

1. How much notice will they give for a rainout?

2. If the game is rescheduled for another day, will I get the same seats? What if it's a double header? If it rains tonight and the ballgame is cancelled, what are my options?
1. Depends on the weather. If it looks like it will rain all night then they may cancell it well before the official start, however sometimes they wait it out and may wait over an hour to see what the weather will be like. If you live far away then your should either stay in the ballpark or find a place outside of it (bar, resturant) where you can wait to find out what happens.

2. Yes you will get your same seats. The game is rescheduled for a different day all together (not replaced with another game) so if tonights game is cancelled it will be played sometime else this season which you need to check to see which day it is scheduled for. Usually they replace it with a double header or have the game on an original off-day

Its one those things that suck if you live far away so maybe make some other plans in case the game is cancelled so you dont waste your time driving into the city

Info from the Phillies Site:

Rain Delays/Inclement Weather

The right to postpone the playing of a game is controlled by the home club with the exception of the final series (that begins on or after June 1) between two clubs, at which time the responsibility shifts to the Umpire-in-Chief. Once a game has started, the Umpire-in-Chief determines if a game should be suspended, when it can be resumed or if it should be terminated because of bad weather or unfit playing conditions. The Official Playing Rules provide that when a game has been temporarily suspended, umpires must wait at least 30 minutes before calling the game. On days when inclement weather is in the forecast, tune to KYW Newsradio (1060 AM) or log on to www.phillies.com for updates on the game status. If it rains tonight and the ballgame is cancelled, what are my options?
You'll get a raincheck for when it's rescheduled..chances are that if it's a double header then it would be a day night double header (2 separate admissions) so you would have the same seats.
You answered my Iraq blog. I just wanted to let you know that is not a radical right wing conservative idea. What better ideas do you have. Cut and run. You liberal pansy.
Step one -- blame global warming.

Step two -- write to the White House demanding that they reimburse you for your time and money.

Step three -- suck it (';it'; being your soda at the game
You could sleep in the seats and get wet OR JUST GO HOME

You can use the tickets when it is rescheduled and yes, you will get the same seats
