I thought the X was an express that only picked people up at a certain point (city centre) and dropped them off at a certain point (saggart) but i accidentally wandered on to one thinking it was a 68 (don't ask why, more the dumb drivers fault then mine!) and people got off as they pleased. Does it just mean you cant get on other then its departure from the city centre?
And while were on the topic, am i the only one thats sick of the morons that drive those death traps? I swear some of the drivers are drunk or something, one went to overtake a line of about TWENTY cars! No joke, all at once, he was basically just driving on the wrong side of the road! Through red lights, speeds over speed bumps everything! And dont you hate it when they look at the little box where you pay your fee as if you didnt pay as much as you said? I hate that, just press the damn button and give me my ticket!
And the ticket, RRGG! i spend 鈧?0 every week on the damn bus fairs, looked into getting a weekly one, its 鈧?8.50, hardly saving a fortune! And the monthly ones are 鈧?0! i mean, who goes on the bus so much that there saving money with that scam? You'd think they'd make the monthly ones more economical then buying 4 weekly ones! I swear there total morons!With dublin bus, whats the difference between a number 69 and 69X? (slight rant included!)?
ah, had a bad day!!! I get the 25x sometimes, and it stops at every stop in Lucan, than Palmerston, then all down the quays, the only difference between that and the normal 25a is its avoids Chapelizod, wippee.
And sure don't you know you have to learn advanced driving skills to drive a Dublin bus, which means, booting down bus lanes, over taking cyclists at last second, chatting you up everytime its your turn to get off the bus, and talking on the radio to Bernie in the Depot about some lunatic holding up the traffic just past Liffey Valley.
And as for the passengers? If you really want a bus journey from hell get the 78A. Its great craic, everyone ring tone is 2pac, everyone talks very loud so if your bored you can tune in to hear someones complete life story. Before you know it your in town. Brilliant. Its the bus the tourist get to Guinness's, god knows what they must think.

Sounds like you could be paying off a nice car instead mate.
I used to jokingly tell girls in my car who were shy;
';girls who go too far, go by car...
Girls who fuss....
By bus.';
I didn't know they were paying THAT much just to get away from me. lol
Get some nice warm brightly coloured waterproof clothing and a bike with kick a55 lights and you'll get around Dublin much quicker. After three months the bike and clothing will have paid for itself.
Yeah, your guess is probably right about just getting it at the starting point and nowhere else. It does seem faster all the same. It is more expensive too. They run only at peak times. I sometimes get the 25X and the 66X to Lucan. You are definitely right about the drivers. Several times, they have gone through red lights and barely brake in time and overtaking is a bit on the dangerous side as well. I have noticed one particular bad driver on our route. I feel the same as you on that one.
