Do you tune out when someone is talking to you because they're just ranting on?

I've just done it to my mum for like 15 minutes lol. She was talking about old people, something else and that she needs the washing done or w/e. Seriously I've only been up for an hour and a half and the entire time she's been whinging. DO you do this too? Have you ever been caught out? lol.Do you tune out when someone is talking to you because they're just ranting on?

Ranting people never catch you because they're too busy ranting to pay any attention to you.





I tune out each time my husband is talking about his boring job so I just stand there, pretending to be a good wife, pretending to listen...in fact, I don't even have to nod or say anything. Anything I would say would not be heard anyway. I know because sometimes, just for the fun of it, I would say the most stupidest or weird things ever...and nothing would happen.


So I just tune out, and think about what I want for dinner and my grocery list, waiting for his mouth to stop moving.





My experience is that people ranting to you cannot hear you...so you don't have to hear them.Do you tune out when someone is talking to you because they're just ranting on?
It really depends on the person for me. If it's one of my friends then I really don't care if they rant to me about something cause I understand that talking about it does help. But, If it's someone I don't like or my family then yea, I don't listen at all haha. Both my parents like to go on and on about stuff I don't care about so I just stop listening and think about things I actually care about.

yes. i do it all the time. even when they arent ranting. i space out all the time.
Hell, sometimes I'll put the phone down and come bk to it during those conversations! Smile and nod. lol.
