Prepregnacy I weighed 137lbs (I'm 5'4 btw) I was never big, I wore a size 2 and I was very active (I'm in the Army).
However now, even AFTER 18 months I have not lost much weight since I had my son.
It's really pathetic. I run 3-4x a week (usually 2-3 miles each time) I eat no different I just can't seem to lose this weight.
I began losing it when I had my son I managed to lose about 21 of the 35lbs that I had packed on while pregnant but then I gained about 10 of that back so now I'm in worse shape than I was immediately postpartum.
It's driving me nuts and really bringing down my self esteem. I weigh 162lbs which fluctuates (I don't really look like I weigh so much it's weird bc it's like all my weight shifted elsewhere, I mean my belly is super flat) but even when I do start to lose a little weight it stops once I hit 157lbs (I think that's my ';plateau';).
I am so damn frusterated..I have tried everything, dieting, colonics, going vegan (that didn't last long..hah), etc.
It's not like I am lazy and don't work out, I run every chance I get. It's never been this hard for me to lose weight. I could always lose it with no problem, no effort before my son came along.
Prepregnancy I could eat anything and everything I wanted but now I'm like obsessed with what I put into my mouth bc I know it will show.
I've gotten my blood checked, thyroids you name it..everything was normal.
I also might add that I was on the depo shot right after I had him but I don't know if that matters.
Anyone else out there have a hard time? I always hear about the lucky women who have their babies and then BAM! they're back in their ';skinny'; jeans like 2 months later..
I am wearing a size 10 now (ugh) and I just want to be able to fit into my old clothes again and look good..
How long did it take you (for those of you who had the same or similiar problems with your weight) to get back into your old clothes or is this it for me???
What worked for you?Anyone else have trouble losing weight after baby, WARNING!!! This is a long question..rant?
Its the birth control. I'm telling ya!
Depo is notorious for causing excess weight gain. As well as making it hard to loose weight. That was one of the reasons I opted out.
I went for Mirena instead..... bad choice, right after having my son I started loosing weight, right up until three months, when I got Mirena put in. Then I couldn't loose weight for the life of me. I got it removed two months ago and the weight just started dropping off.Anyone else have trouble losing weight after baby, WARNING!!! This is a long question..rant?
oh yeah! read mine........
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;鈥?/a>
Breastfeeding did it for me.
your belly cramped ...because your uterus was shrinking back to normal from breastfeeding thats the easiest way to lose baby wieght..I would go try Vegan again decrease calories to 1600 a day and rollerblade or speed walk an hour a day evertyday . Your metabolism will turn around
I only gained 15 lbs during my 2nd pregnancy i weighed 145lbs but im tall.. and ive lost 30lbs.. Don't know how that happened but all i have been doing is walking and breastfeeding..
The depo shot sideffect is putting on weight you might want to ask your dr about that.. I hope things work out for you and your self esteem comes back im sure you look great
:)
I have the opposite problem. I can't keep the weight on! I swear I eat more. I've lost 17lbs and now weigh 102lbs. I wanted to keep more of the weight. I was 85lbs before pregnancy and my family all struggle with proper weight. I know the irratation. Good luck with your lossing weight and hopefully I'll be able to gain some.
I think some people just skim trough your question since they lack inf. that you pointed out
Yes it is very frustrating my baby is 3 months and I'm still wearing some of my pregnancy clothes my stomach is almost the way it use to be but my butt and thighs are huge I try to exercise when ever I have the chance but it is hard when baby needs most of my attention I hate how self consious I have become I want to wear my old clothes but they don't fit I feel fat discusting because my face look fatter than it use to me I have yet to find the cure for this I doubt you will too and alot of of mothers feel the same way you do I'm surprise that you can't keep of the weight for good since you exercise
i just had my twins about a month ago and i lost 25lbs, which was the weight i gained, in two weeks. alot of it was water Weight.
i've heard from friends that are on the depo shot, that you can gain weight from it. i asked because i'm looking into my birth control options.
as far as working out, Pilate's worked best for me and i love love the elliptical machine.
if it makes you feel better, i would love to be 162lbs. i'm a pound less than i was before i got pregnant, and i just started running and was losing weight but had to stop because i was a high risk pregnancy.

What is your view on Justin Barrett's, a Boston police officer, racist email rant on a news report Gates' case?
I was speechless when I heard it on Larry King. and the fact that he had the audacity to show up and ask an apology not for his racist email, but for coming out as being racist, was just unbelievable.
man what do you know, Obama was right the first time by calling these cops stupid.
Here is his full email

i'm not suprised actually. american cops have been racist undercover for decades and they're cocky because no one has brought them to any much attention anywaysWhat is your view on Justin Barrett's, a Boston police officer, racist email rant on a news report Gates' case?
Wow. Considering his beat was Mattapan (77% African American and Haitian) and Dorchester (68% non-white), is it any wonder minorities don't trust cops?
wow! what a racist

What makes a girl hot...but not slutty or skanky? Guys go ahead and rant (girls what makes YOU hot to guys)?
NOTE: Theres a lot of parts to this question.
A. PHYSICAL
What kind of hair? Skin color? Body shape? etc. etc.
What special physical part of a girl do guys like? For example, plump lips.
GUYS go aheaddd rant all you want about what would make her hot. Just don't go ';blonde hair'; because I'm naturally tan (filipino). Go in the direction of like straight hair/ silky. idk.
B. PERSONALITY
What about the personality??
I want it to be hot but not enough for people
to even consider it a hoe like action.
Thanks guys (:What makes a girl hot...but not slutty or skanky? Guys go ahead and rant (girls what makes YOU hot to guys)?
several guys have told me they like long lashes and long shiny hair. healthy skin, eyes, and nails. soft hands and lips. all of them like average sized boobs because they think jumbo huge fake ones just look... fake. body shape: average.
personality: no guy likes a *****. lolWhat makes a girl hot...but not slutty or skanky? Guys go ahead and rant (girls what makes YOU hot to guys)?
whta makes a girl hot.. is a girl that is gorgeous, you can have a tan girl with brown hair thats gorgeous or a white girl with blone hair thats goregous..so you cant exactly say which one is beautiful... plus if a girl is gorgeous then eveything about her is hot even if she wears a baggy t-shirt
Wait. Whoa, whoa, whoa....you tell guys to rant all they want about what THEY think is hot, and then you tell them what they CAN'T say? weird.

sorry just had to say BOMB question! :)

A. I think how a girl takes care of herself is what makes her beautiful. You don't have to be the most attractive woman on the planet, but if you keep yourself up, you'll look and feel a lot better. By that I mean, eat pretty healthy, be active (not like fitness trainer active, but a walk here and there, dance, sports, anything), keep your hair and nails clean, and so on. A girl who takes care of her hair, keeps her nails pretty, wears makeup to cover imperfections on her face and bring out her features, and dresses appropriately looks a lot more attractive than a girl who doesn't really care.
B. Be all around. I love to laugh and joke around, but I'm also a fast learner and determined worker. Show people you're self sufficiant and independent. Don't walk around flaunting yourself on someone elses dollar.
A.
Not frizzy or poofy, nice curls or straight and wavy is really pretty, long usually but some people look good with short cuts :)
Skin color doesnt matter as long as they aren't super pale.
Curvy but not chunky, or thin with some curves.
Pretty eyes and clear skin fur'sure!
Gorgeous eyes %26amp; nice skin!
[thats what my guy friends say %26amp; what I think boys want]
B.
Funny is a must, got tot be able to joke around %26amp; have a good time!
Flirty but with limits, and some guys go for the ';easy'; ';slutty'; type even though me %26amp; my friends find that disgusting that boys like that type of person.
My boyfriend wants me to add they have to have a nice ';donk'; :)

sorry like i answered a question earlier but like it kinda turned into a rant lol but just read it its not totally bogus like just tell me what you think lol and comment =) thanks
well to me like i think its kinda f'''''ed up that people think that because a guy leaves a girl that is pregnant that its his fault and that hes a total f''''''' bag and deserves to die =? like idk about this particular guy but my ex ex girlfriend was pregnant with my baby but i had already broken up with her even before she knew she was pregnant so like time went on until like she finally found out and then she told me and what not and then when other people found out everyone got on their HIGH horse and started telling me on how i was a D';';K cuz i didnt want to go back with her and stuff nut liek she had totally messed up on our relationship like she was always cheating on me like she even cheated on me wit another girl one time so like wtf not all guys that dont stay wit there babys momma are selfish pricks so like cut it wit that and yeah i tried to work it out and well guess what she cheated on me again after she had my precious son and of course im in his life im always there for him in fact im going to go pick him up in a bit sooooo quit being soooo judgemental on fathers like me cuz you dont even know half of anyones story and you already assume stuff and sorry for the rant but like ugh awwwwwwwwwww it just like it was time to explode cuz of all the girls on this stupid yahoo answers are always talking smack and dont know anything so next time be sincere and shut it cuz some of us fathers find offense ok so yeah just sorry i was just tired of all this maybe ill even put this on a ques lol =) and well if he leaves her for the wrong reasons dont stay with him cuz thats really f'''''ed up and that makes the rest of us look bad lol =) so just make sure you know his whole story before you judge him =) Sorry like i answered a question earlier but like it kinda turned into a rant lol but just read it its not...?
Well I applaud you for wanting to be an active part of your sons life. It really bothers me when people automatically judge the father harshly for not staying with the mother of his children. It's all a part of how our society stereotypes men and women. First of all I think it is terrible for people to ';stay together for the kids';. Just because two people have a child together does not mean they should run off and get married or even stay together. If they don't really love each other it gives children a terrible view of what a healthy marriage should look like. For instance my husband thought it was completely normal for his parents to sleep in different rooms until he was 13, a couple of years after they got divorced. Though a family is usually the idea it's much better for a child to see their parents happy and apart then together and fighting all the time or constantly cheating on each other. So when people look down on a man for not staying with the mother of his child it really upsets me. If he doesn't want to be with her no matter what the reason it's not going to be a good example for their child. Secondly, I hate when people assume that when a man leaves it is just him running from responsibility and never think about the faults of the mother. I know fathers who do run from their responsibilities by not visiting their child or paying child support but honestly I know more who are very active in their child's life and never miss a payment. Unfortunately our society tends to assume the father has selfish or bad motives when leaving the mother of his child, This is one instance where men definitely get the short end of the stick. I agree that people shouldn't be so quick to judge relationships that they know nothing about. Assuming that men are bad people or at fault for not staying with the mother of their children when you know nothing of the situation is sexist.beach makeup bad acne

Got any advice on college stress coping skills (WARNING: pretty long, kind of a rant)?
Here's a little bit of info: I'm a sophomore engineering student at my university (becoming a junior next semester) who is also pursuing a minor in English. I have very difficult classes such as Calculus 1 and Computer Science, and I have a presentation coming up for my English class. I hate math (only when it's hard to understand), I'm not looking too good in my COSC class (I've scheduled a meeting with my teacher to discuss whether I should drop it or not), and my face easily turns red when nervous and I ALWAYS get nervous in front of an audience (it helps if there has been practice ahead of time, but it's nightmarish if it's impromptu seeing as I once got a panic attack a few days ago because of that). I've been reconsidering changing my major or quitting college because I'm tired of all the stress that's been happening lately, but I don't want to give up just because of adversity and I want to get a good career since I'm nearly halfway done with my undergraduate years. But then again, all this stress seems to be killing me!
On top of all that, I have a tendency to ramble when I'm in a bad mood (which is kinda what I'm doing right now) and I am somewhat girl-crazy.
I really felt like getting that off my chest, and I don't like sharing this with my friends because I hate showing this side to them (not that I don't trust them or anything, but I might regret it later on from embarrassment since I'm normally not like this).
Can anyone help me? If this question is too vague and you want more info to help me out (assuming anyone actually wants to help), feel free to send me a private message or some other means of communication.Got any advice on college stress coping skills (WARNING: pretty long, kind of a rant)?
Do not drop out of college! Whatever you do. The stresses of real life are much worse than college especially if you drop out. Then you will have the worries of feeling like a failure and a drop out and finding a job...not a great place to be. College is stressful. So is the real world. The real world will be much less stressful AFTER you have that piece of paper in your hand. You will get college figured out. Just hang in there. I cried every year during finals, even up to my senior year. It's normal. Try to find a good balance that YOU feel good about. Work hard and play hard. There really are no rules, except do whatever you have to do. You are just getting a crash course in skills that will help you live a happy life.
Getting nervous in front of an audience...Follow the best advice I can give...If you are going in front of the class, GO FIRST! If you sit there and anxiously anticipate being in front of the class, it gets worse. If you get it done and over with, then you save yourself minutes of anxiety which only increases over time waiting to speak. Practice raising your hand before you get called on in class. Take the ball in your court. Your face will not be red if your speaking because of your own choice to speak and you will know what to say if you choose to speak instead of being chosen. It is nerve racking, believe me. I avoided public speaking like the plague...switched majors because of it...switched back to my original major, had to take it. After the class, I was so much more confident. You will be too. By my senior year, I was ready to get into any conversation in class. Another thing, remind yourself it's only a couple of minutes of your life AND notice that after a couple of overwhelming terrible minutes, it does lessen. So much in fact that it will eventually go away and you could enjoy it.
I know this is long but I have had all the experience you have (so has any college student). You either make it or you don't. Be one of the ones who makes it and stay with your major! Your bank account will thank you one day. College will give you the skills (public speaking included) where you will thrive in life. And panic attacks will go away as you get older. Hormones will lessen. You will be able to cope with stress better. College is one big panic attack. Don't worry!Got any advice on college stress coping skills (WARNING: pretty long, kind of a rant)?
I'm Irish so believe me, I know what you mean. I still blush. I remember a quote, ';A blush is beautiful, but often inconvenient.'; Vulnerability is endearing. There is nothing you can do to control it. Most people feel it but not all have it shown on their faces. It will get better. Promise!
i agree with the statement above
if exposed to chronic stress, the only way to stop it is with breaks- from college
College....not easy. Truthfully, if I knew what to tell you I would haved saved myself the trouble of stressinng out. I totally understand what you are saying. I mean besides the usual, take a break, don't wait till the last minute, see a tutor, talk with your teacher, ask for help, study more, read the chapter twice, etc. it's like someone dropped you in this hole and there is no way of getting out. I don't recommend dropping out. But at least think about this. Do you like the classes you are taking. You meantioned about switching your major, sometimes you find out halfway into that you really just hate what you thought you would love. It took my six years to get my bachelors. I hated my first major and I wound up dropping out for a year after almost failing. I stayed out for a year, went back, changed my major, and madde A's and B's. If you are REALLY burnt out then maybe you need a real break. Like take off a semester. Or if it is the major that's getting to you maybe you should like at other major's that you'll somewhat enjoy.

How does one address a mechanic who grossly overcharged for work? Kind of a rant...?
I bought an 88 Camaro for little money. I then had my mechanic of 3 years begin to fix the car.
Right way the car needed a new fuel pump. Was replaced and took about 5 hours.
Another problem was a fan that wasn't working on the motor.
I waited for six weeks before any work was done to the car.
Two days ago, I told him I wanted a bill or I wanted him to finish the car asap. He agreed to work on the car.
Today I received a $842 bill! I don't have the bill in front of me but I do remember some details.
I remember I was charged for 6 hours of labor, totalling $240. I'm guessing the fuel pump was about $150.
I know a fan had to have some adjustments made. Could this cost $400?
I know basic maintenance was done to the car, but he didn't even change the oil.
I know it's hard to comment because I don't have all the specifics in front of me. I didn't have a chance to really look at the bill today because I had to take the car to another mechanic.
See, the brakes on the car were absolutely horrible. I can lie with suspension and other issues but I definitely need brakes.
Like I said, my bill was $842. I gave him $400 cash and told him he would get the rest Monday.
Now that I am thinking about it, I'm pretty sure he will be more likely receiving a $200 check.
6 weeks is a long time to have your car worked on. Wouldn't you agree? How does one address a mechanic who grossly overcharged for work? Kind of a rant...?
what i will agree with is, you are getting ripped off !!!!
replacing a fuel pump in a mid 80's Camaro, (if you know what you are doing) only takes about an hour, two hours billed, max. (barring any major problems).
replacing a fan on this vehicle, whether it is electric or mechanical is about an hour or less to replace. (if the mechanic is honest).
6 hours of labor at $240 is a fair charge per hour, ( $40 an hour is not bad at all ) i would just be questioning the amount of hours actually worked.
but keep in mind some places have set charges for things or minimum hours charged for a specific job, if this is the case, you may need to just pay the bill and consider it lesson learned. if this is not the case look closely at the actual time worked on the vehicle and if it did take that long for the repairs, was it because he milked the clock or he just does not know what he is doing? you should not pay for their lack of knowledge, that is their problem..How does one address a mechanic who grossly overcharged for work? Kind of a rant...?
because ive worked in this feild an im not a professional but i do have some expierence if ur dealing with a ma-pa type of joint then yea the bill can reach higher
i say if you want a car like that then you should probably have learned how to fix or rebuild cars.
6 weeks does sound like a long time. you never said why it took so long. No the price of the bill does not sound to big a deal with the lil info you provided. i question 240 for 6 hours. What kind of shop charges 40 dollars an hour. i have paid more than double that to insure the job is done right. I think you took a car with lots of problems to a mech with lots of problems. Of course you aren't gonna get what you want.
Six weeks is too long, but $842 is not too much for that kind of work. They don't just automatically change your oil. That is a separate issue and is an additional charge for that service. If go to an excellent mechanic in my city, and they charge average price for labor-$71 per hour. So getting six hours for $240 is a bargain, only $40 per hour. Next time it might be best to get a written estimate of your auto repair, so you can prepare yourself and your wallet when it's time to pay.
Tell him you feel ripped if you have to give him any more than $400 now that you drive the car and see he knows nothing, and did very little. Then get another mechanic. I am curious what fan adjustments he needed to do, the fan on the 88 Camaro was not adjustable, he is seriously messing with you, ask the new mechanic to check the list, then threaten him with fraud if he failed to perform any duty he charged for. He may give some money back.
yeah but the price could be right, maintenance is a very big part of the bill it sounds like, fans are expensive too.and you don't want to cheat him any money he says you owe, if you signed a repair order, then he has power to charge you what ever he thinks is necessary,if you cheat him on money then he can get a mechanics lean on your car,in some state a mechanics lean is stronger than a bank lean.I dont want to point fingers, but its your fault he didn't work on the car for 6 weeks. If its not done in two days go get it,pay him for diagnosis and be on your way.
Well, theres a mechanics book, that gives the time for every job. You local library might have a copy for your car, or you'll have to investigate online. That can be used as a base for how long a job should take. It can also be used in small claims court to recover from a dishonest mechanic. I would not pay anymore, and find the hours for the two jobs, so you can point that out. If there were any extenuating work that had to be done, ask him to point it out. Also, i would find a new mechanic asap.

To Bash or Not to Bash That is the Question- A musing (or rant) on Twilight?
Okay recently there have been a lot of questions along the lines of why do you twihaters pick on us... yadda yadda yadda. Oftentimes the asker states that none of us have even read the book then ask to be left alone.
Is anyone else seeing a bit of irony in this? Being a bored college kid, I actually take my time to read some of the posts on here. Oftentimes the people who don't like Twilight are the ones who actually explain why they don't. ';Twilight is a boring read because I feel asleep reading it'; ';Bella is a weak character whose narration is whinny and unappealing'; ';There is no character development; Bella and Edward remain stagnate'; ';Bella is spoiled and in the end gets everything she wants. Where's the plot in that, it just doesn't work out that way'; Heck many people even note the fact that its not the books but the fanatics that are being bashed. I've also notice that nearly all of the time the answer that usually gets picked as best are along the lines of ';I know; they are so mean';
On the verse side when is see people explaining why it is the best book ever written its usually something like ';because edward is hot'; ';because of the romance'; ';because of the great writing'; The answers tend to be vaguer and less...well convincing.
The other thing I am noticing is many people who are use to this board are stuck typing don't suggest twilight for book reccomendations even with subjects such as ';suggest some good non-fiction'; and ';what's a book like angels and demons'; and still it rarely fails that twilight is among the answers.
In the end I am left with a set of questions
-Why do Twilighters always assume that people who give a negative review of the book or are fustrated with the endless twilight postings automatically assume that they haven't read the book?
-Why can I never get a full answer as to the redeaming qualities of Twilight? (ie why twilight is a good literary work)
-Do those who are merclessly labeled ';twihaters'; really out number twilighters on this board?
-Even I admit that the searchbar doesn't work the greatest but why do we keep seeing ';when is MS going to be released';?
-Why do people ask for opinions on the book and then get upset when they read a negative post?
-Why are people labeled twilhaters for making even one negative statement about the book?
-Why do people keep suggesting twilight to people who obviously aren't interested in it?
-What is the most original Twilight question you have seen asked recently? (okay I'm mixing things up with a poll question).
I know this post favors more toward those who dislike the books because of my own biases, but I'm interested in answers from both sides. To Bash or Not to Bash That is the Question- A musing (or rant) on Twilight?
All the twilight lovers love Twilight because there is something appealing and magical about vampires, Edward is basically the perfect man, and many girls wish they were in Bella's position. It is romantic and different from the usual guy description of ';yeah I'm hot and I wanna bang every chick I can';, Edward is sensitive and the girls thrive on that. It has action to balance out the mushy romance part, and its exciting to read because its obviously not what happens in everyday life because it has super attractive, mythical creatures battling it out. It also IS very well written, I doubt a poorly written book even with the Twilight characters and plot line would be successful. The author is able to make a connection with Bella and the readers. In conclusion, no matter how much you question it, Twilight is the craze and hype right now and people are anxious for MS to come out and they want other people to enjoy Twilight too, even though some may be more aggressive about it. Everyone has their own opinions, so everyone just needs to shut their mouths and respect each others thoughts and opinions. Theres no need to shove the Twilight series down someone's throat, and theres no need to make a fool out of yourself by trash talking a popular book because THEN YOU ARE ASKING FOR TROUBLE. And don't generalize Twilight fans, not all of the thousands of fans are out on the internet having virtual fights and arguments with people who don't like Twilight. Its not like the book turns you into a obsessed monster who is programmed to help make the book take over the world. Thats just some peoples PERSONALITIES. But yeah, people need to chill out on OMG YOU DON'T LIKE TWILIGHT? DIEEE, and the WTF TWILIGHT IS THE STUPIDEST BOOK EVER, YOU PEOPLE ARE OUT OF YOUR FREAKING MINDS. Quite frankly ITS ANNOYING.To Bash or Not to Bash That is the Question- A musing (or rant) on Twilight?

Even at the end of Twilight when Edward refuses to turn Bella into a vampire....... it's part of his obsession.... just like Bella is desperate to become a vampire....... it's like.... the absolute obsession is taken to it's absolute conclusion. And that's gratifying as a reader. It's really a gothic romance about extremism.
And....... one of the best things about Twilight is that it inspires so many people-- including me-- to write down their romantic dreams in novel form. (Although for me, I'm not writing about vampires.) I think the fact that it inspires so many people is a good thing.
Hi there,
-Why do Twilighters always assume that people who give a negative review of the book or are fustrated with the endless twilight postings automatically assume that they haven't read the book?
They cannot imagine that anyone who has read it could dislike it, because they love it so much. That shows a lack of consideration and empathy.
-Why can I never get a full answer as to the redeaming qualities of Twilight? (ie why twilight is a good literary work)
Because the people who DO think it's good have not learnt enough yet to say why. Many of them have only read four books in their lives, i.e. Twilight and all its sequels, and therefore, naturally they think it's good.
-Do those who are merclessly labeled ';twihaters'; really out number twilighters on this board?

-Why do people ask for opinions on the book and then get upset when they read a negative post?
GOOD QUESTION.
-Why are people labeled twilhaters for making even one negative statement about the book?
It's the same with any fundamentalist religion or dictatorship out there. Either you love it with all you being, repeatedly say so, and try to convince others (by being very, very annoying), or you are no true fan.
-Why do people keep suggesting twilight to people who obviously aren't interested in it?
As I said... Being stupid is chic.
-What is the most original Twilight question you have seen asked recently? (okay I'm mixing things up with a poll question).
I doubt I've ever seen any.

The one thing I hated about twilight was that there was no build up for their romance it was just like okay I love you because you want to bite me! lol SM should have done something that would have made that part a bit better
As far as likers and dislikers' justifications go, I think looking at the demographic of the fanbase is a big reason. The book/movie are marketed toward teens for the most part and teenagers aren't known for their poignant introspection and literary criticism, so yea, most of their reasons are ';because Edward is hot';. You don't see many adults going nuts for Twilight, like a lot did for HP, because the books really aren't written very well. It's garbage with an intriguing hook.
ok, here is just my opinion. i don't actually have answers for you, but, I LOVE TWILIGHT %26amp; so do a lot of my friends, including like an entire adult sunday school class (well the women anyway). i don't read books for literary reasons, just for fun. as far as age related opinions, i know of a jr. high class who was assigned to read it %26amp; loved it plus the sunday school class mentioned above.
f.) it's a mark of maturity to be able to fairly answer a question about something you don't like
Very, very true.
-Why do Twilighters always assume that people who give a negative review of the book or are fustrated with the endless twilight postings automatically assume that they haven't read the book?
What's it called... ostriches in the sand? Pretend they didn't read it so their opinions don't count so no one hates Twilight so the world is fine.
The thing is, some people truly have not read the books, so the fans nitpick and apply it to everyone.
-Why can I never get a full answer as to the redeaming qualities of Twilight? (ie why twilight is a good literary work)
Because there are none =.=
Ok, though I dislike it, I will try...
1) It's easy to read.
2) Escapist self insert fantasy to spend a boring afternoon
3) Learn new vocab words! Though they're used in weird places.
-Do those who are merclessly labeled ';twihaters'; really out number twilighters on this board?
Don't know. Probably. Hopefully!
-Even I admit that the searchbar doesn't work the greatest but why do we keep seeing ';when is MS going to be released';?
Choose one:
a) people are dumb
b) people are lazy
c) people want to give other people free points
-Why do people ask for opinions on the book and then get upset when they read a negative post?
They're already skewed in favor of Twilight. They just want positive reviews to reinforce that. Sort of like living in bliss then getting upset when something bursts your bubble.
-Why are people labeled twilhaters for making even one negative statement about the book?
Why are people labeled twihards for making one positive statement about the book? Labels happen. Over time, they cease to have meaning.
-Why do people keep suggesting twilight to people who obviously aren't interested in it?
Choose one:
a) free points
b) truly have not read anything else
c) thought are consumed by Twilight
d) Twilightitis. This disease causes anything associated with the series to trigger off happy feelings and thoughts of pure Twilight, for example, that apple yonder, show it to someone infected with Twilightitis and they will scream ';ZOMG IT'S APPLE LIKE SHOWS FORBIDDEN LOVE AND STUFF';. Show them a book and you get ';ZOMG TIS BOOK LIKE TWILIGHT IS BOOK SO BOOK = TWILIGHT';
-What is the most original Twilight question you have seen asked recently? (okay I'm mixing things up with a poll question).
Hehe, a weird one about vampire farts that I tried to answer scientifically.
Man, your COLLEGE offered courses where TWILIGHT was required reading? Even my high school doesn't do that! (nothing against you, of course)
-Why do Twilighters always assume that people who give a negative review of the book or are fustrated with the endless twilight postings automatically assume that they haven't read the book?
Because they just don't want to believe that someone can honestly not like the book.
-Why can I never get a full answer as to the redeaming qualities of Twilight? (ie why twilight is a good literary work)
Because the are none.
-Do those who are merclessly labeled ';twihaters'; really out number twilighters on this board?
I hope so.
-Even I admit that the searchbar doesn't work the greatest but why do we keep seeing ';when is MS going to be released';?
Either they really have nothing better to do or they live to annoy us, take your pick.
-Why do people ask for opinions on the book and then get upset when they read a negative post?
Because they want everyone to think exactly like they do.
-Why are people labeled twilhaters for making even one negative statement about the book?
Because ';LYK OMG how can u dis twilight? It's LYK d bes buk eva. Stph Myr is a genus.';
-Why do people keep suggesting twilight to people who obviously aren't interested in it?
Because it's the only book they've ever read so it's the only one they CAN suggest.
-What is the most original Twilight question you have seen asked recently? (okay I'm mixing things up with a poll question).
Is there such a thing as an original Twilight question?
Haha...I saw a question like that, where someone asked for a NON-FICTION book and someone told them to read Twilight. And I've also seen someone post a question saying, ';I have already read twilight, so don't suggest it'; or ';I'm not interested in teen fiction like Twilight, so don't suggest it,'; yet people still say to read Twilight. It is quite stupid actually.
In my opinion Twilight is a really good series. (No I'm not dissing it) but I think that some people go wayyyyyyy to overboard on the fandom train, yes I read the books, hoping to see the movie, but no I'm not going to act like the biggest fan on Earth over one series. And yes I do think that Stepanie Mayer is an awesome writer!!!!! My last point is.... If anyone has even fricking seen the fourth Harry Potter movie you would know that the actor that played Edward Cullen in the movie also played Cedric Diggory in 'the Goblet of Fire'. (Sorry just had to make that point.)
-Why do Twilighters always assume that people who give a negative review of the book or are fustrated with the endless twilight postings automatically assume that they haven't read the book?
------- Some people can't believe people can even hate a book like Twilight, I agree that is might be annoying to some people if people just rant on their questions but seriously, I have read the wholeentire Twilight series and I can honestly say there is nothing special about it to be.
-Why can I never get a full answer as to the redeaming qualities of Twilight? (ie why twilight is a good literary work)
------ Because Twilight is NOT a piece of literary work, some people can go through the book with a red pen correcting all of her mistakes.
-Do those who are merclessly labeled ';twihaters'; really out number twilighters on this board?
-----I think there are a lot of Twihaters, they just keep quiet. On YA I think there are more Twilighters.
-Even I admit that the searchbar doesn't work the greatest but why do we keep seeing ';when is MS going to be released';?
----Midnight Sun is Twilight in Edward's point of view and we keep on seeing it because some people are allergic to using asearch engine.
-Why do people ask for opinions on the book and then get upset when they read a negative post?
-----I dunno....
-Why are people labeled twilhaters for making even one negative statement about the book?
------Some people just can't understand that it is even possible for people (like me) to dislike Twilight.
-Why do people keep suggesting twilight to people who obviously aren't interested in it?
-------Because some people are truly obsessed and want to support their fandom
-What is the most original Twilight question you have seen asked recently?
------- Not much, they are usually the same question repeated.
*Sorry for the lame answers!*
someone asked a while ago 'how far back has stephenie meyer sent feminism' that was a good question.
personally i hate twlight. it's badly written, boring, and a terrible example to women. it actually alarms me the opiniosn that meyer seems to have about relationships. it's unhealthy.
i also hate that most of the questions are the same, and that no one likes to hear bad things. it's a public question, so why do they ask if they don't want to know.
i am personally very pleased to be considered a twihater. i think i will eve get a teeshirt with it one it.
It is a sign of immaturity to become obsessed with something (i.e. movie/book) that has little literary value based on hormones.
That said, the obvious answer to all of the questions is that these people are 14 and probably still sleep with a night light.
I've read 'Twilight' and intend to read the rest of the series simply because I started it and might as well finish.
It's entertaining enough and I can see what draws teenaged girls to it, but that's about it.
My ';twihate'; is specifically directed @ the people who incessantly bring it up as if there is no other subject on Earth to discuss.
The way I see it, I only have so much time in my life and none of it is reserved for obsessive, repetitive, immature rantings about a book that is mediochre at best.
Thank you for speaking for the rest of us so eloquently. (=
Not that it will make a damn bit of difference.

Choose one:
a) free points
b) truly have not read anything else
c) thought are consumed by Twilight
d) Twilightitis. This disease causes anything associated with the series to trigger off happy feelings and thoughts of pure Twilight, for example, that apple yonder, show it to someone infected with Twilightitis and they will scream ';ZOMG IT'S APPLE LIKE SHOWS FORBIDDEN LOVE AND STUFF';. Show them a book and you get ';ZOMG TIS BOOK LIKE TWILIGHT IS BOOK SO BOOK = TWILIGHT';
Because ';LYK OMG how can u dis twilight? It's LYK d bes buk eva. Stph Myr is a genus.';
